“You’d think this was made in Illustrator or something. This is 3D suckers, look!”
Haha, totally made my day.
Haha glad you enjoyed it!!

Thanks for watching!
Hey Emma! Thanks so much for the kind comment, really appreciate it!
hi EJ! im in c4d lite, and for some reason my guy doesn’t react to the light….is there something I’m missing? i obvi don’t have sketch and toon, but the light should still cast shadows…yes?
you’re the best! always love everything you dooooo!!!! keep it up and ty!
Hey there! Are you using full Luminance textures? Or are you using the Lumas > Colorize workflow I covered previously? Full Luminance textures won’t show any kind of shading, nor cast shadows.
Mind blown! These spline textures are so cool!! And amazing for making flat characters. Did you by any chance find a way to preview spline textures in the viewport, without the interactive render region?
Unfortunately no, the viewport doesnt represent that stuff correctly for whatever reason! So IRR is the way to go for now! Thanks for watching Marc!!!
Hey EJ! I was just wondering which version of Cinema 4D you used for the tutorial? I was looking to download the free trial, but I’m not sure if I should download Studio, Lite, or another version
Studio! it’s the only version of c4d that youd want for production jobs! :)
Hi ! I love your tutos!! Thanks a lot !!! (sorry about my poor english, I’m french actually… ) But I’ve got an issue there : I don’t know why but in my alpha texture it only works with simple splines (like rectangle) not with the combined one or even with a spline I’d drawn … I can’t seem to find why … ? Would you know what is the problem ? >< Sorry
Thank you for the tut, very useful! Any tips on how to achieve that spline shading with Redshift?
