In this jam packed tutorial, you will learn how to place objects along the surface of an object, project splines onto a surface using Spline Projection, and how to deform objects along a surface using the Surface Deformer in Cinema 4D! Be sure to check out Grand Chamacho who was the inspiration for this design! One of my favorite 3D character designers out there!
Topics covered include:
• Using Constraint Tags to easily place objects along a surface
• Learning about Constraint Tag Priorities settings
• How to Project Splines onto surfaces using Spline Projection
• Using the Surface Deformer to deform objects along a surface
If you have any questions, be sure to post it in the comments section and if you create anything using any of the techniques I covered, be sure to share it with me! Thanks for watching!
Great stuff, EJ. Very useful techniques. Love that you find all these related modeling gems and put them together to create an entire fun piece/project. And your good design always helps, as we know. Cheers!
Thanks Jake! Really appreciate the kind words and for you watching my tutorials! Glad you found this helpful!
EJ, Love what you do. I have used your techniques on several projects. Huge help to me. Thanks for all the useful training! God Bless!
Hi EJ! Great useful tutorial, thanks! I noticed that the heart in the skull did it in a different way. I think you draw the spline and then extrude or cloth surface, make symmetry but I can not did it. Can you tell it?
The heart was just placed via the Constraint Tag, no splines or anything!
Yes, the heart is positioned with a constraint tag on the skull. I wonder how the heart is doing.
I’m having a problem with the render and the constraint tags, I can see them correctly rendering in the viewport but not in the final render, is there any way to solve this issue? :(
Hey! i´m having the same issue when rendering… have you find a way to fix it?
