In this tutorial you’ll get a little intro to the Time Effector and how you can use it to help automate animation inside Cinema 4D!
Download Tutorial & Final Render Project Files
Don’t have R18? Download the free Cinema 4D Thrausi fracture plug-in
Topics covered include:
• Learn some Time Effector basics
• Combining the Time Effector with other Effectors to get variations of animation applied to objects
• Introduction to the R18 Voronoi Fracture object & learning how it fractures up objects
• Learning about Falloff Clamp functions
• How to create a nice procedural marble texture
• Utilizing the Random Effector for more organic, interesting animation
If you have any questions about the Time Effector or Voronoi Fracture, be sure to post it in the comments section! If you create anything using this technique, be sure to share it with me on Twitter or in the Comments! Thanks for watching
great tutorial, only one question, my textures are slipping, and i cant fix it with the texture tag or i am applying it the wrong way, how can i fix that?
You can prevent that using the Stick Texture Tag. Apply it to your non-deformer object, hit “Record” and the textures should stick!
Hi, eyedesyn! Great animation. May you ,please, share the bacground picture of this gif with me if it is not a problem. Thanks in advance.
Hey Orkhan, it looks like he made it using the “/5 Gradients/Grad7” gradient in HDRI studio, with the “Hue” property changed to 158 degrees.
An easier way to do it is to just make a background object and apply a gradient texture to it. Here are the settings I found work well. http://imgur.com/3UBHNFY
Hey I was wondering how I would be able to combine this with dynamics so that there is some collision detection on the fracture pieces as they break away and come back…?
Hey I was wondering how you would incorporate collision detection into this technique?
Apply dynamics to the pieces, I have a tutorial on how to do this here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bPMzlpnoYME
